In Aboriginal culture, a totem is a natural object — plant or animal — inherited by members of a clan as their emblem. Each group is responsible for the stewardship of their totem, caring for it across generations. Saretta's totem is the Wedge Tail Eagle.

Bayiibayii — the Emu, is a uniquely feminine image in Awabakal tradition. The Emu Woman, engraved into rock in Wonnarua Country in the Hunter Valley, points with her middle finger, shaped like a ridge, as a signpost to the women's birthing cave. Ancient, powerful, and quietly guiding those who know how to read the land.

Part of the Totem Series — originally commissioned for Hunter Health in 2014, and connected to the Tankaan Ngatan Bobong (Mother and Baby) collection celebrating pregnancy, birth, and motherhood across the Hunter Valley.

Bayiibayii - Emu

Aboriginal tribal and clan groups each have a totem. A totem is a natural object, plant or animal that is inherited by members of a clan or family as their emblem and the group is responsible for the stewardship of their totem. My totem is the Wedge Tail Eagle.

The emu is traditionally a uniquely feminine image. The Emu Women found in Wonaruah country in the Hunter Valley is engraved into rock with her middle finger as a sign post (in the shape of the ridge to follow) to the women’s birthing cave.

Returns

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Full refund provided if you’re not happy.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase to be included with the returned item.

Refunds:

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval of your refund.

Once approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7 days.
