Before writing, there were message sticks.

Bantimita — meaning 'Message Stick' — honours one of the oldest forms of Aboriginal communication. Carved, painted, and burned with meaning, message sticks were carried by hand across Country to announce ceremonies, extend invitations, resolve disputes, and share news. The horizontal carved lines woven through this artwork are a direct echo of those inscriptions, ancient words made visible.

Bantimita - Message Stick

This artwork is symbolic of Aboriginal message sticks, depicted by the horizontal carved lines within the work. Messages were painted and inscribed on a stick, which was then transported by hand. Typical messages inscribed on the stick by painting, carving or burning would be announcements of ceremonies, disputes, invitations, warnings, meetings, events and happenings.

Returns

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Full refund provided if you’re not happy.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase to be included with the returned item.

Refunds:

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval of your refund.

Once approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7 days.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
