Land of Awabakal
This sand engraved artwork is reflective of the lands of Awabakal.
Interwoven within the design people symbols flow within the landscape , bringing an acknowledgement to the Awabakal, as traditional custodians of the land. Known as the people of the hills and plains, a songlines on country backdrop captures country from coastline, water ways to the beginning of the Great Dividing Range.
Stepping stones highlight past, present and future generations within the imagery, while vertical message sticks directly beneath, bring a message of reconciliation and gathering together during important times of sharing of cultural and building relationship, such as NAIDOC week.
