This artwork depicts the dreamtime story of the Kangaroo that lives inside Nobbys. Long ago Kangaroos live in two groups male and female, one day the kangaroo attacked a female kangaroo which was against the law. He was banished from the kangaroo group forever after a long chase by the wallabies the kangaroo reach Muloobinba, the place of sea ferns now called Newcastle. He swam to Nobbys Island and entered the tall rocky outcrop to hide from the angry Wallabies, making sure he was out of sight of everyone, he remain there to this day.
