Payami – Spirit series 2

The blue used in this painting signifies Payami (God/Spirit). It covers the whole canvas to demonstrate his omnipotence. The double kidney symbol represents elders and their important role to our people and our spiritual connection to Payami, while the lines indicate our pathway through life and the transparency of our inner being to Payami.
It was unclear to the first settlers, but Koori’s (Aboriginal people of Awabakal country) had a strong spiritual life. This involved close, if not complete bond to the land and their clan.
