Yamuloong - Coming Together series 5

This artwork tells the story of Yamuloong, a meeting or gathering place. Within the artwork we see 2 people symbols surrounding a central circle. Sitting on a backdrop of country, these symbols are depictive of family clan groups coming together in a delegated place for corroboree.

The major meeting place for Aboriginal people in the Hunter was Wollombi (meaning meeting place of the waters), this work is also depictive of this through the waved lines (relating to water) flowing in the background of the work and the green hues used with the piece.

Size: 300 x 200 mm

Medium: Mixed medium on premium stretched canvas with hanging hooks and wire.

Year: 2021
