Heart for people celebrates caring for others and coming alongside families in their time of need.  It shares Rohan’s 30-year journey of supporting people and families and making lifelong friendships, as she’s journeyed with people, through some of life’s hardest challenges.

Central to the artwork four large gathering circles flow upwards on the canvas, depicting Rohan’s four roles within Ronald McDonald House throughout her journey, from Volunteer, Assistant House Manage, Events & PR Manager to Family Room & Volunteer Manager.  This imagery is interwoven with people symbols, highlighting the families, children, amazing volunteers and forever friendships she has made, during her years of service, through both the happy and sad stories.

The right side of the artwork is reflective of Ronald McDonald House, as a home away from home.  Traditional symbols rising up within the design depict the home within its beautiful bushland setting, highlighting the growth Rohan’s has seen and been a part of, from 8 rooms to 18 and still growing.  This imagery also represents the  2 Family Rooms in the Children’s Hospital to support local families and Rohan’s part in creating these peaceful and safe places for families over the past 21 years.

Together this artwork captures the story of many!  It represents each unique family, Rohan’s lifelong forever friends, who each are a part of her story and have unique and special stories of their own.  The pathways and people symbolism within the design are reminiscent of the many families and volunteers who have walked alongside Rohan, through all the seasons of her 30 year journey,  it shares her love for these special people and this special charity, where she has had the incredible privilege to spend most of her working years, making a difference for families doing it tough.
