Kolang - Towards
This artwork reflects two camp sites and the journey from one to another to hunt and gather, as it was the traditional custom of many southern coastal people, including the Awabakal to make the journey inland from the coast to warmer areas during the colder months. Gathering circles embraced by country and Yapung (pathways) show the mountain location and the trip to get there, while the gathering circle to the right of the imagery sit close to the east coast, as portrayed within the work.
